No prayers, please...

Do your friends pray for you when you're in hospital? Ask them to stop – they might be doing you a disservice. According to a scientific study, published last week, patients having bypass surgery actually had more complications if they knew they were being prayed for. So at the very least, if people insist they want to pray for you, ask them not to tell you.
The study, conducted during a period of almost ten years and involving over 1.800 people, is the largest so far. There have been a dozen or so studies of prayer power, with inconclusive results. Now, however, it seems the issue has been settled, and US research money can hopefully be redirected into more worthy causes.
