Don't miss the Vitra Design Museum!
The Vitra Design Museum, ten years old this year, is by the American architect Frank O. Gehry, best known in Europe for his Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, in Spain. He has designed an enchanting house in Prague, “Fred & Ginger”, whose facade in glass and steel really does look like a dancing couple. The Vitra Museum is in the German town of Weil am Rhein, on the Swiss border near Basel. Here you can see classic furniture designs by, among others, the Eames brothers, Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright, Ron Arad, and Jasper Morrison. Open 11-18, closed Mondays.
